Curry Ranch is a working ranch
where the horses and their training are integral parts. The experience
is invaluable for the young horses in building their strength,
confidence and exposure to a variety of conditions. We are using
them as plantation horses and having a lot of fun in the
process.
Our recent move to a smaller nearby and more efficient property is nearing completion. The new facility has two barns with stalls an indoor wash rack and veterinary area. A third barn provides for a covered round pen. The youngsters grow up in large paddocks and we have an outdoor arena with excellent footing. Direct access is open to virtually endless trails on public and private land. Photos to be posted soon.

Breeding Philosophy
Initially, my goal was to breed the " perfect
", Peruvian Paso Horse. Realizing that a goal of perfection is
indefinable and therefore unattainable, the focus shifted to that of
consistently breeding horses with " ideal qualities " of the
breed. For me, the ideal Peruvian Paso Horse must, have the requisites
of proper gait with extended thread, possess the proper conformation
for soundness and exhibit intelligent, tractable behavior with athleticism
and excellent brio.
Although, I find the aesthetic appeal of certain colors, beautiful
heads, long sculpted necks and luxuriant manes/tails to be attractive
features, I deliberately excluded such factors in making breeding decisions.
This approach has allowed the good fortune of reaching the primary goal.
A bonus, has been the simultaneous development of wonderful aesthetic
qualities. Many of our strongest performers happen to be " drop
dead " gorgeous, with compelling charisma.
The Curry Ranch, goal is to continue on the path of sound fundamentals
and accept " beauty " as icing on the cake. ( Please click
